How did it get to be November already? It seems we just put away the Christmas decorations.

Two weeks ago I had the opportunity to speak at the AAMFT conference in Austin, TX. I really love meeting therapists in person from around the country. I especially enjoy sharing my passion and my mission with wonderful groups of smart, savvy, and caring therapists.

At a conference like this, I have the opportunity to share my mission. I want to get the word out to therapists all over the world that they can have a meaningful practice and a nice income. I want them to know that they can make a good living as a therapist – that they can learn how to attract fee-for-service clients – even though most grad schools do not teach it.

It takes courage to have this position. It is completely counter to the mentality that therapists have to be poor in order to be good servants of the community. The fact that you’ve subscribed to this newsletter shows that you are on the leading edge of an exciting movement.

As I shared my passion for this mission at the recent conference in Texas, amazing things began to happen. Professors offered to help me get this information to their graduate students. A graduate student asked me if there was anything I wanted researched as he might do his dissertation on it. The audience asked me how they could help me spread the word to their peers and to the therapist training programs.

Bob and I came home so excited about all this. And it reminded me that when you stay on course with your mission and let your passion for it show, your business will grow exponentially.
