Casey, you have taken me out of the buzz of business activity to focus on the 2 things that matter most to me: My Mission and My Golden Goose. You're so right - we can't serve our clients without serving ourselves as well. Pushing through just doesn't work; we need to renew, revitalize and rest. Love your stuff Casey! It's always timely and pertinent. Blessings to you, Joanne

While I like your cheerfulness, energy and desire to be helpful I am greatly disappointed by this video. Unless I missed something you didn't actually tell us HOW to take care of ourselves. Are you referring to supervision, time with friends and family, exercise, hobbies, food.... ?

This video did not live up to its billing. The concept is great but you provided no substance. Perhaps I should also mention that I hate the word "mission." To me, it has unpleasant overtones of religious (and now, military) fanaticism.

Hi Casey
What a great video. I think a lot about work / personal balance, but hadn't thought about the mission part. I am trying to add a new mission to my work, and so far it's proving difficult to fit everything in.

My new mission is to create and provide informational materials that help therapists manage all the steps and pieces to running a business. I'm told I'm very organized, and I've learned a lot about how to market and run a successful business (thanks in part to things I've learned from you!).

But finding the time to start a new business on top of a busy practice, and still take care of me ... not so easy. I'm committed to taking good care of myself, and I have to keep the practice at a certain level, so we'll see. I'm going to think more about the new business in terms of mission.

Thanks, Casey, for a thought-provoking video.

Hi Casey,

Thank you for taking the time to share and encourage. The visual is very helpful. The "Business circle is a tool to carry out the mission" reminds me "it's okay to get paid" for delivering the mission.

Blessings,
Sissi

Hi, Casey
Thanks very much for the video. I like the conceptualization and you helped me realize that my mission of helping others - something I really believe I was born with - carries into my personal life as well. My business really took a dive when I had several family crisis's to tend to last year. I have been beating myself up until I saw your video and realized I was being true to my mission - just not getting paid for it! Hopefully things have smoothed out and I can get back to my business of helping others. Thanks again! Patti

Thanks, Casey,
The video and three circle concept resonated with me. I love your genuine approach! I am not sure if we can ever achieve a perfect balance but we can get in touch with when we are heavily off balance or in what areas we tend more/less too. I am learning a lot from you regarding the business circle and I hope to continue to grow from your support. Thanks so much!

Casey,
I love that three interconnected model. And you do such a good job describing it concisely.

I would like to hear you talk more about self-care. I find that if I spend as much time as I think I need in self-care, my business suffers. Therapy is such an emotionally draining business, that if I was really balancing myself, I would be taking a short vacation quarterly. But travel is SO expensive, and clients really need consistent schedules (I work alone), I feel I would be taking profit from my business, so I keep working and then get exhausted by the time I take time away.

My "golden goose" isn't golden automatically - she has to put in the client hours in order to make money. I have children entering college, and the expenses never end. While I do what I can day to day, I am lacking in "renewal" time.
I know I'm not alone!
