Did you see Susan Boyle? The power of a dream

in Articles

This morning I was feeling a little bit stung by a negative comment about the upcoming Therapist Leadership Conference. While most people are very excited (We have people from all over the world attending – I am so excited), there are still some nay-sayers. People who don’t have the vision that many of us do for a quality conference without traveling.

One lady wrote something in a forum to the effect, “Wow -since I don’t have to leave my home or office to listen – maybe I will just put in an ear piece while seeing clients. I could double-dip.”

I thought at first it was a joke but further comments showed me that she was making fun of us. In other words, she didn’t see the same vision.

As many of you know, I went through this when we started the practice-building side of our business – BeAWealthyTherapist.com. But I stuck to the vision and now – we have helped over 30,000 therapists, coaches, healers and even some wonderful financial planners.

Holding the vision when others don’t isn’t easy. But how worthwhile when you end up succeeding! That is why I am so excited about this conference. I believe that this is the future of conferences. I can hardly believe we start in 3 days!

The power of a dream

The power of a dream

This morning when I read those comments and was contemplating what I thought and felt, Bob popped in with “Did you see Susan Boyle?” He went on to tell the story of a rather unsophisticated, unassuming 47 year old woman auditioning at “Britians Got Talent” in front of Simon Coyle and the judges. From the moment she arrived at the taping, everyone was judging Susan as someone who really shouldn’t be there. Sly comments and rolling eyes were exchanged among the judges and audience. When Susan said she’d always wanted to be a professional singer, the audience giggled. You could see them thinking “yea right!”

Then she opened her mouth to sing. If you haven’t seen the video of Susan Boyle already, you have to.

Remember – please – despite what anyone else ever says – please hold on to your dream and your vision. (And know I am holding it for you too.)

Click here and prepare for a treat. I present Susan Boyle …
